After conversations with the National Weather Service and Anderson County Emergency Management, it was determined that the forecasted winter storm is predicted to begin impacting the Anderson area before dismissal times. ❄️
Because of this, Anderson 3 will observe an eLearning Day on Friday, January 10, 2025. 💻✏️
Schools will communicate eLearning information. Please be reminded that students have five (5) school days to complete eLearning work following the date that school operations resume. (This should afford plenty of time for playing in the snow!) 🤞⛄️😉
⚠️ South of I-85 is predicted to receive a higher percentage of ice accumulation. This has the potential to heavily impact our rural roadways and power systems. Please be prepared for any possible power outages and express caution when traveling. ⚠️

With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Mrs. Kristie Westbrook, a cherished member of the Flat Rock Elementary and Anderson 3 Community. 🩷
Mrs. Westbrook served in the cafeteria at Flat Rock for 13 years before transitioning this year to a 4K Paraprofessional position, where her heart longed to be. Kristie was known for her sharp wit, charm, and ability to connect effortlessly with others. She brought warmth and humor to every interaction, leaving adults and colleagues with a smile while offering her unwavering care and kindness to all. Her legacy of compassion, laughter, and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew her.
We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. Please join us in keeping the Flat Rock Family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

The Anderson 3 Board of Trustees welcomes the newly elected trustee, Mr. Justin Burdette, to the district's Area 3 seat.
Mr. Burdette is a native of the Starr-Iva Area. He holds a bachelor's degree in Information technology and has worked at Miliken for over 12 years. He currently serves as a Process Improvement Leader. Justin and his wife Kristina have been married for 19 years and have two children, Madi and Peyson. Together, they reside in Starr.

The Case of the Missing Assistant Principal! 🔎🚧
Mrs. Bridges’ 5th-grade reading students at Starr Elementary transformed into detectives to tackle a hands-on crime scene investigation to sharpen their skills in identifying Primary and Secondary Sources. 🕵️♂️🗂️
The students did an amazing job gathering evidence, analyzing clues, and distinguishing between different types of information sources. This interactive activity made learning fun while strengthening their critical thinking skills! 📝👏
Mrs. Holbrook's and Mr. Metz’s English 4 students recently presented their career research projects! 🎓📚
Each student explored a potential career path, creating boards that detailed everything from job descriptions and salary expectations to education requirements and essential job skills. They shared their findings with district representatives and school staff, gaining valuable experience in communication and presenting their ideas. 🌟💼
