One of the most Uncommon things about Anderson 3 is our strong agricultural heritage, which is a legacy that continues to thrive through Crescent FFA and our dedicated Show Team members. ๐พ๐
Last week, our Tigers took on the South Carolina State Fair in Columbia, SC! We were proud to see many of our Crescent and Anderson 3 students hard at work, including a current South Carolina Governor's School for Agriculture at John de la Howe student we still proudly consider a Tiger. ๐
The commitment, discipline, and passion these students and their advisors show in caring for and exhibiting their animals reflect the very best of Anderson 3. Their efforts honor a staple tradition that has long defined our rural community and continues to make us Uncommon. ๐ค๐ฎ๐

When the power went out this week for a short period at Crescent and Starr-Iva Middle, our schools didnโt miss a beat!
Starr-Iva Middleโs Librarian, Mrs. Amy Russell, moved her Media Productions students next to the window to read! ๐โ๏ธ
Thank you, Little River Electric Cooperative Inc., for getting the Issue fixed so quickly.

Since joining the #A3TeachingTeam at Starr Elementary, Mrs. Vickery has been a breath of fresh air, bringing joy, rhythm, and harmony to the halls through her passion for Music Education. Her steady presence, true musical knowledge, and creativity have already made a lasting impact on both students and staff! ๐ต๐
Mrs. Vickery began her teaching journey in 1992 at Union High School. After moving to Anderson in 1994, she taught in Anderson 4 and Anderson 5, serving at Townville Elementary, Riverside Middle, Varennes, Whitehall, McLees, and, most recently, Centerville Elementary, where she spent 12 wonderful years before joining Anderson 3.
Originally from Oklahoma, Mrs. Vickery has called many places home, including Texas, Tennessee, and Florida, before settling in South Carolina to attend Newberry College, where she earned her Bachelor of Music Education. She and her husband, Shane, have two grown daughters: Holly, who lives in Pennsylvania, and Anslie, who lives in Atlanta.
When sheโs not inspiring the next generation of musicians, Mrs. Vickery enjoys singing with the GAMAC Chorale, traveling to visit her daughters, hiking to find waterfalls, and relaxing in her backyard with her three dachshunds.
Weโre so thankful for the energy, heart, and harmony Mrs. Vickery brings to Starr Elementary! She truly makes music fun, meaningful, and uncommon! ๐ถ ๐ฏ

Ms. Pujolsโ 8th grade math students at Starr-Iva Middle explored transformations by ROTATING shapes on the coordinate plane! ๐ โจ๐
Using graph paper, plotting points, and different colored pencils, they watched their shapes turn through 90ยฐ, 180ยฐ, and 270ยฐ. ๐โ๏ธ
Through this activity, students practiced describing how figures move and change when rotated, all by tracking the coordinates of each point.

We are grateful to the Generostee Baptist Church Missionary Ministry for their $300 donation and to the Morgan Horne Memorial Fund and the Sol Flowers Fund for a $1,000 donation in memory of Morgan Horne.
Both gifts will directly support our homeless student population, providing much-needed care and resources.
Thank you to all who give so that our students can thrive! ๐

We are proud to celebrate Ms. Lawanda Mullinax-Howard as Anderson 3โs Bus Driver of the Year for the 2025-2026 school year! ๐๐
For the past 10 years, Ms. Lawanda has been so much more than a bus driver; sheโs been a steady source of comfort, care, and consistency for our students and families. From her warm smile in the mornings to her reassuring presence in the afternoons, she has left a lasting mark on our school community.
Lawanda embodies everything we value in our bus drivers: responsibility, patience, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to student safety and well-being. She truly is the heart behind the wheel.
Congratulations, Ms. Lawanda! Anderson 3 is so grateful for you. ๐
