Following Hurricane Helene, we were fortunate to support our families with food and resources. When we quickly depleted some of our stock, several organizations reached out and blessed us with supplies and money so that we could continue to support our families. Thank you, Hope Missions, Iva Community Food Bank, and Truth Tabernacle, for your generosity! 💛🤩🥫

Tigers, it’s game time AND giving time!🎉 Bring a canned good or non-perishable item to the Crescent vs. Pendleton Football game this Friday for a chance to score big! All donors are entered into a chance to win a Crescent Swag Bag. Several bags will be given away during the game. 🏃‍♂️ Powell Power! 💥 Iva Elementary's Principal, Mr. Austin Powell, took the ultimate endurance challenge and conquered running 100 miles this weekend! 💯 His students and staff sent him off with a pep rally on Friday, and we’re thrilled to say he crossed the finish line! Congrats, Mr. Powell, on going the extra mile (or 100)! 🥇👏

Red, White, and Apply! 🇺🇸 ☑️💙 Our Crescent High seniors cast their votes for their future on College App Day, with 450 college applications submitted! Mr. Roberts and Mrs. Black are also officially campaigning for write-in votes for a presidential ticket... with an official slogan, "Country Meets Country Club." We think they will do a great job!🗳️😆🇺🇸

The Fall Federal Career and Technology meeting took place on October 8, 2024, bringing together district and advisory council members to align our programs with industry trends. These council members, local business owners and professionals provide valuable input on funding, equipment, and business needs. If you or someone you know would like to join, attend at least two meetings a year and offer insight into our business, agriculture, construction, or Project Lead the Way programs, please contact us! 👩🏻‍💻🚜🤖

Anderson 3 Families, After assessing the roadways in our area and receiving an update on the number of residents in our community who do not currently have electricity, we have concluded that the safest option for our students, staff, and families will be to suspend school operations for the remainder of this week, October 2, 3, & 4. Many of you have inquired about our currently scheduled student and staff holiday on October 7 and our Professional Development Day (Student Holiday) on October 8. These dates will remain student holidays. We anticipate a potential waiver from the state level regarding these school days and hope to have an update on this for you soon. While our local electric providers have worked diligently to restore service to our community, we currently do not have power to two of our school facilities, Starr Elementary and Starr-Iva Middle School. Both schools are projected to be restored by the end of the week. 🍽️🔌We are extending our invitation for our community to visit Flat Rock Elementary or Iva Elementary to include the rest of this week, October 2-4. Both schools will remain open to charge devices (10-2) and receive a FREE hot meal (11-1). Free meals are for ANYONE of any age. 🚌 We plan to resume full-school operations on Wednesday, October 9, but will communicate this with you officially next week. 📣OPERATIONS UPDATE📣 Anderson 3 will observe an eLearning Day on Monday, September 30. PLEASE UNDERSTAND that one of the main reasons this is being designated as an eLearning Day is that it gives us more flexibility in make-up. The main idea behind eLearning Days is that it provides much more flexibility to complete school work after power and internet service is restored. We will work together to sufficiently meet the eLearning Day requirements as soon as we can return to normal operations. We are thankful for the men and women working hard to serve our community, restore operations, care for the needy, and lend a helping hand. Please keep those in our community working nonstop to get us back to normal in your thoughts and prayers. We will provide an update on Monday regarding Tuesday, October 1, school operations.

📣eLearning Day Message📣 Good Morning, Anderson 3. We are hearing reports of widespread power outages and damages across our area. The safety of our staff and families is our first priority. Please do not worry about eLearning work as we understand power outages will limit access for teachers and students. We will focus on missed work next week. Take care and be safe!

Welcome to the 2024-2025 #A3Teaching Team, Ms. Rebecca Bannister! 👋🎉🍎 Ms. Bannister has joined the Starr-Iva Middle School Special Education Department as a Learning Lab Teacher. Rebecca is a Lander University graduate with a bachelor's in Elementary education. She is also a 2020 graduate of Crescent High School and has been in the Starr-Iva community her whole life. She is engaged to Ryan Cross, and they have a wedding planned for February 2025. Welcome Back to Anderson 3, Rebecca! 😊

📣WEATHER ALERT📣 Due to the anticipated weather impacts of Hurricane Helene, Anderson 3 will be observing an 𝙚𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙖𝙮 on 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙮, 𝙎𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝟤𝟩. Individual schools and teachers will communicate eLearning assignments and expectations as well as any changes to afterschool activities.

Ms. Week's 1st Graders at Iva Elementary flexed their writing skills and muscles during their recent "Handwriting Boot Camp!" Students enjoyed fun handwriting with built-in boot campy style activities such as push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, and more!💪🪖✏️

Andy McDonald from the Michelin US 10 Plant in Starr presented Starr Elementary with $2,500, sponsoring their Back to School Bash. Starr fed its families pizza, chips, popsicles, and drinks and provided fun activities for the students to participate in (face painting, bouncy house and obstacle course, bubbles and chalk, etc.). Thank you, Michelin US 10! 🤩💙

Mrs. Melancon's Environmental Science students are 𝐙𝐎𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 in on science! From tiny cells to creepy crawlies like spiders, they mastered the microscope and got a close-up look at the wonders of science. 🔬🕷️🔍

🧪 6th graders at Starr-Iva Middle had a blast in the science lab with the "Saving Fred" activity! 🐛 Teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity were in full swing as students worked together to save Fred the worm using only paperclips—no hands allowed! 🙌 Science is not just about learning facts; it's about thinking critically and working as a team to solve problems.🔬 #6thGradeScience #HandsOnLearning #SavingFred
