Here's a quick look at what's happening at SIMS in August!

We can't WAIT to see you all tomorrow for our #Day1 of the 2024-2025 school year at SIMS! Here are a few reminders for a successful start:

Final Forms Clarification: If you are receiving a notification stating that your Final Forms are NOT complete due to missing student signatures please know that SIMS teachers and school counselors will be instructing students to complete "student" Final Forms during homeroom when they return.
Once students log into Final Forms here at school and sign their portion of the forms parents will then receive the final notification that their forms are complete.
We apologize for any confusion. Thank you for reaching out regarding this matter. Please call or email Mrs. Farr (farra@acsd3.org) or Mr. Jordan (Jordand@acsd3.org) with any additional questions.

Tiger Camp was a success! Thank you all for attending. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the school. We are happy to assist and want to assure you that with your help, your 6th grade student is going to have a great experience at SIMS. We forgot to mention Club Time Donations, so please view the post below for ideas of how you can help!
Every student will have the opportunity to participate in a club of their choice this year on Fridays! We are looking forward to spending some time on Friday mornings from 8:05 am-8:35 am getting to know our students through a variety of high-interest clubs. Our teachers are putting together some really great ideas, and we need your help! Drop-off your contributions at the front office, Monday - Thursday from 9:00am-3:00pm starting on July 16th. One item not listed to donate is YOUR TIME! We would love to have some of our community members come in during club time to mentor our students by talking with them about their careers, their hobbies, and ways to give back to our wonderful community. Please email wilsone@acsd3.org if you are interested in sharing with our kiddos. Thank you so much for supporting our students and this new initiative! We look forward to sharing all that we learn through our "Club Time" this year.

Our 8th grade Academic Enrichment Students in Ms. Smith's Class have had a ball learning more about the English Language as we have been implementing strategies from our LETRS Training here at SIMS. Recently, she had her students research the origin of some of the academic and domain-specific vocabulary words used in class. Students were suprised at their findings and shared what they learned through a Word Sort!
