🚀 Newton’s Laws in Action! 🚀
Newton’s Laws came to life in the library as our 8th graders built popsicle-stick “trains.” With just the right setup, the trains exploded apart — giving students a hands-on way to see each of the three laws in motion!
Students applied their learning from 8th grade science to explain how and why the reactions occurred using real physics concepts. Learning literally popped! 💥✨
We are so thankful to have Ag back at SIMS this year! Our Agriculture students have already been hard at work beautifying our campus — from the new planters welcoming everyone at our entrances to a festive fall display at the car rider porch for all to enjoy. 🌻🍂
The fun doesn’t stop there… last week, our Ag classroom hosted some special feathered visitors! 🐣 Students loved the hands-on learning experience and we can’t wait to see what they grow next — both in class and around our school! 🌱 Thanks, Mrs. Caldwell, for your amazing leadership and innovative ideas!

Our Staff vs. Student Volleyball Game will take place Thursday, October 30th during students’ Related Arts times.

Our SIMS Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest is almost here! Bring your pumpkin masterpieces to the Library on Tuesday or Wednesday morning (Oct. 28–29).

Our October Staff Spotlight is Mr. Marty Russell. His commitment to our kiddos and engaging our students, staff, and community is inspiring! We are so proud that he's a part of our SIMS family!
Two weeks of positive referrals means we have to take pictures by grade level because we have so many kids doing so many wonderful things! Thanks to our teachers and staff for recognizing these precious kiddos!
8th Grade Science Review! 🚀
Our 8th graders reviewed Newton’s Laws of Motion in fun and engaging ways! They used a triple Venn diagram to compare and contrast the three laws, then put their knowledge to the test with a Newton’s Laws board game they played together. 🧠🎲 What a great way to review and reinforce learning!
We had a ball celebrating our 8th grade volleyball players at 8th Grade Night last week! 🏐💛It’s been such a joy watching our girls grow and improve with every set this season. They wrapped up their year with a strong showing at this past weekend’s tournament, and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and teamwork! A huge thank you to Mrs. Russell and Mr. Russell for pouring into these girls and leading them with heart all season long. 💪
FCA Spotlight:
The FCA student leadership team has been stepping up this week. They would like to thank the local pastors and youth pastors who take time to share encouragement during these student-led FCA meetings each Wednesday.
🤖🔧 7th Grade Robotics on the Road! 🧠🚀
Our 7th Grade Robotics students had an awesome day at Engineering Day at the University of South Carolina! They explored hands-on STEM activities, met engineering students, and saw how creativity and problem-solving come together in real-world design.

💪🫀 6th Grade Science in Action! 🧠🏃♂️
Our 6th graders are exploring how the body’s systems work together during physical activity! Students are checking their heart rate and respiration rate after resting, walking for one minute, walking for three minutes, and doing wall sits.
Through this hands-on investigation, they’re discovering how the circulatory, respiratory, and muscular systems respond and work together to keep the body balanced and healthy during movement. 🧬💨
