This morning Superintendent Hipp and Anderson 1 Superintendent Robbie Binnicker packed boxes for the Weekend Snackpack program at the Golden Harvest Food Bank. February is Buy-a-Box month, a push to get the funds needed to make sure the SnackPack program is able to provide for 800 children in Anderson County. Every dollar you give will be doubled thanks to a generous donor's challenge match! 80 children from Anderson 3 benefit from the program. If you would like to help by donation, visit https://secure.givelively.org/donate/united-way-of-anderson-county/buy-a-box

This week art students in Mrs. Sarah Jordanβs class at Starr-Iva used the Impasto technique to create animal paintings. Impasto is a painting technique where paint is laid on an area of the surface in very thick layers. This allows the Bush or painting-knife strokes to be visible. This provides texture when dried, and allows the paint appear to come out of the canvas. Artists such as Pollock and Vincent Van Gogh used the technique quite frequently. π¨
