Last week Elementary and Middle School students attended the First Quality VEX IQ Robotics Scrimmage hosted by the Anderson Institute of Technology. Starr-Iva Middle School students competed against students from Anderson Districts 4 and 5. The Starr-Iva Terminators were awarded three awards, including Robot Skills Champion, the Design Award, and the Sportsmanship Award. The SIMS Tamales also received the Sportsmanship Award. Congratulations to both teams! ⚙️🤖
Meet #A3Allstar, Mrs. Vickie Gambrell! 🌟
Mrs. Gambrell is part of the facilities team at Iva Elementary School. Vickie and her husband Larry have been married for 34 years. Together they have one daughter Jordan married to Adam Dicce. When not working, Vickie enjoys spending time with her grandson Rowan.

"I enjoy being around these sweet babies, and I love the sweet family I work with every day. They make my job easy and enjoyable. I feel so blessed to see these kids grow up and become adults. When I see them years later, they always know Mrs. Vickie, and that warms my heart."♥️

Welcome, Ms. Brandi Williams! 🍴🏫
Ms. Williams has joined the Nutrition Services Team at Starr-Iva Middle School. Brandi is a native of Iva and attended Anderson 3. She has two daughters, Keeleigh and Brynnlee, that attend Iva Elementary. Ms. Williams has worked in the food industry for over 15 years and is also a proud member of the Jackie's Starr Mart Crew. Brandi enjoys spending time with her family, attending church, cooking, and watching her daughters play sports.

Our final shoutout is for Anderson 3 Board Member, Mr. Larry Holbrook! Larry has served on the board since 1998. He is a proud graduate of Crescent High School and has been a member of the Iva Fire Department for over 40 years. Mr. Holbrook is married to Tammi Holbrook. Together they have three children and nine grandchildren.

Meet Anderson 3 Board Chairman Mr. Tripp Bouknight! Mr. Bouknight is a second-generation board member and has served since 2017. He is a graduate of Crescent High School. Tripp is married to Nikki Bouknight, and they have two children, Kiersten and Levi.

We would like to welcome Mrs. Tiffany Hoskins to our A3 Teaching Team! 🍎🎉
This year Mrs. Hoskins joined the SPED Department as a teacher at Iva Elementary. Tiffany was born and raised in Starr and is a proud graduate of Crescent High School. While working as a paraprofessional at Flat Rock Elementary, Hoskins obtained a Bachelors's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. Tiffany and her husband have four children. When not at school, she enjoys watching her children participate in sports and going to the beach, reading, and spending time with family.
Mrs. Hoskins was already a familiar face in Anderson 3, but we are excited for her to now begin her new role as a teacher!
Today we spotlight Anderson 3 Board Member Mr. Curtis Wiles. Mr. Wiles has served on the board since 2001. Curtis is a graduate of Crescent High School and Limestone College. He is married to Rose Wiles, and they have two children, Kathryn Boggs, married to Andy and Sarah Cleveland, married to Kylan, and two grandchildren, Wesley and Bailee Boggs.

Students 18 years of age and older can also register at scvotes.org. Students 16 years of age and older can also sign up to be poll/election workers. Mrs. Powell is a SPED Paraprofessional at Iva Elementary School. Amber has an Associates's Degree from Tri-County Technical College and over 15 years of experience working with children. She and her husband Russell reside in Starr with their children Mason, Aiden, and Kensley Mae. Together they enjoy being active in church and vacationing as a family.

DHEC will hold a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic tomorrow, Tuesday, January 25, from 5-8 PM at Crescent High School. This will be set up near the New Gym entrance. Pfizer vaccines will be available to anyone 5+. If you plan to get a booster, please remember to bring your vaccine card.
