Tonight the Board of Trustees recognize Blake Kelley, Alyssa Wood, Willie Web and their coach, Tonya Fowler, for winning the international SAE Jet Toy Competition last month in Detroit.


April Employee of the Month - Lauren Sutherland. Mrs. Sutherland is an amazing teacher & leader in our school. She has created a STEM program that students of all ages LOVE. She works with our robotics team & helps teachers with LLI lessons for struggling readers. Congratulations!

Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars Celebration Game - Sunday, May 5. If your child received a complimentary voucher, please don't forget to redeem it.

Starr 5th Grade Parents: Please turn in Parent Surveys by Friday, May 3 if you haven't already. Thank you for you assistance in this matter.

Third graders have been working hard researching and developing solutions to real world environmental problems. Many groups developed working models of their solutions and tested various variables.




Spring Fling Update: May 10th 5-7 pm. We still need donations for raffle baskets. Bracelets are on sale for $8 as well as "Pie-in-the Face" tickets for $1. You may also begin selling raffle tickets ($1) for baskets. Turn in your dinner reservations. Don't forget to find your Hawaiian attire!

Starr Elementary: Yearbooks have arrived! Yearbooks can be purchased in the front office each morning for $20. First come, first serve basis.

Starr Parents: If you are interested in purchasing class pictures there are still some available. Class pictures are $10. See us in the front office if you are interested.

March Employee of the Month - Rebekah Johnson! Mrs Johnson is a remarkable employee to Starr because she always gives her best for her students. She is friendly to co-workers and peers and always tries to make them feel appreciated. Congratulations!


Just a reminder that Monday, April 22 is a school holiday! We will see students back on Tuesday, April 23!

Our Jet toy team landed safely in Detroit today! Help us wish them good luck as they compete tomorrow in the international competition!




SES 5th Grade Parents: A form will come home today to register your "Rising 6th Grader" for SIMS. It is important to fill these out and return by Tuesday, April 2. We will take our students on a tour of the middle school in May. Those permission slips will also come home today.

SES Parents: Support our March of Dimes drive, purchase a cut-out for $1. The students are participating in a contest - the class with the most cut-outs purchased will win a free ice-cream. All cut-outs need to be purchased by April 12. Thank you for supporting this great cause.

To celebrate Women's History Month, 3rd Graders at Starr Elementary researched influential South Carolina women using their Chromebooks! The presentations noted the numerous women who have made great impacts in not only SC but across the world.





February Employee of the Month - Tonya Fowler! Ms. Fowler always has unique lessons to encourage her students. She ensures that students get various opportunities to participate in great things. She leads the robotics team as well as Jet Toy and Rocket Launch.
