Congratulations to Flat Rock students who scored Met or Exemplary on last year’s SC Ready and SC PASS. Students enjoyed an exemplary breakfast, movie, dodge ball, and a dance. Special thanks to Coach Martin, Coach Powell, and the CHS wrestlers for joining our celebration.
We had our traditional Christmas tree lighting today for our students and staff. The children in the group picture have participated in the tree lighting for seven consecutive years.
Tuesday, November 26 will be Hat Day at Flat Rock Elementary sponsored by 2nd grade. Bring $1 to wear your hat to school tomorrow.
Flat Rock students enjoyed a performance by the National Theatre for Children on the importance of energy conservation.
Flat Rock Elementary is participating in the AIM food drive. Students have been given bags for participation. Please consider donating canned and boxed food items. We will run the food drive through next Tuesday, November 26. Thank you for your support.
Flat Rock students participated in the Fall Games at BHP High School today. Big thanks to Mrs. Christenbury and her staff and our fifth grade buddies for making the day extra special for our students.
Flat Rock will serve our traditional Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday, November 21st. Please arrive early as we expect a lot of guests. Make sure you have your driver’s license in order to check in at the office before lunch.

DHEC will be at our school on Friday, November 15 for our student flu vaccine clinic. Registration for this event is currently closed. If you registered your child to receive a flu vaccine at our clinic but no longer wish for them to receive the vaccine, please call the DHEC regional office at (864) 596-2227 Ext. 246.
Flat Rock celebrated National STEM Day on a BIG way today! Animals, a vet, 4-H, FFA, woodworking, painting, photography, broadcasting, poetry slam in a coffee shop, and more.
