
Eleven 4th and 5th grade students completed the 20 Book Reading Challenge and went on a field trip to Barnes & Noble and out to lunch. Each student received a free book for their hard work reading twenty chapter books this school year. Way to go, students!


Mrs. Swope and Mrs. Blantonโs second grade reading classes spent the week reading the book, Rosie Revere, Engineer. Students performed the book for classmates in a Readerโs Theatre, learned about engineer, Rube Goldbergโs contraptions, and practiced building their own! ๐ท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐

First graders are adopting peeps from the Easter Bunny! ๐ฐ Should they be allowed to keep their chick? The Easter Bunny will be the judge of that after reviewing students' persuasive letters. โ๏ธ๐ฃ Stay tuned!

Our kindergarteners enjoyed their visit from Mrs. Jessica Simpson with Clemson 4-H. Students are currently incubating baby chicks in their classrooms. Thank you, Mrs. Simpson, for demonstrating how to candle a chicken egg to check on the embryo inside. ๐ฃ

We had โboogie feverโ today at our Boogie for Babies dance to raise money for March of Dimes! Thank you to all who participated. ๐๐บ




Reminder: Flat Rock will host "Boogie for Babies" this Friday during Related Arts classes. Entry is $3 and snacks are $1 each. Students may wear 70s attire for the event. ๐บ

We had a great time at our school Jet Toy competition! Students were rewarded for their score in distance, accuracy, time, and weight. The top 5 highest scoring teams will move on to compete in the A3 District Competition! ๐๐๏ธ
