Our September Core Essential has been Friendship! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿฏ

Friendship is about choosing to care for others, showing kindness, and being someone others can count on. This month, we have encouraged our Tigers to build strong friendships through respect, encouragement, and simply being there for one another.

The little things matter, and a good friend can make a big difference. ๐Ÿ’›

At Starr-Iva Middle, technology has a purpose! ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“š

Teachers already work hard to make sure technology is used intentionally when it truly enhances student learning. Tech-Free Week gave everyone a chance to Restart. Refresh. & Reconnect.

For one week, students and teachers traded a little screen time for more paper and pencil, books, conversation, collaboration, and some good old-fashioned instruction. โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“–

Help us welcome another addition to the 2026-2027 #A3TeachingTeam, Mr. Josh Wade! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŽ‰

Mr. Wade is joining Starr-Iva Middle, where he is teaching Introduction to Business! ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“Š

A Fort Mill native, Josh brings more than 14 years of experience teaching and coaching at the high school level. He is also a U.S. Army veteran who completed two tours in Afghanistan before returning home, earning his degree from Anderson University, and beginning his career in education. He spent more than a decade coaching football at BHP and is excited for this new opportunity to teach and coach at the middle school level while spending more time with his wife, Lindsey, and their boys. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

New this year, Introduction to Business will help our middle school students become more confident, efficient, and safe users of technology. Students will develop practical skills with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and other digital tools while learning about digital citizenship, internet safety, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

We are excited to expand these opportunities for our students and thrilled to welcome Mr. Wade to Anderson 3! ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿ’›

For the past 8 years, James โ€œBonesโ€ Jarrard has served Anderson 3 as our Director of Maintenance, bringing an incredible level of pride, professionalism, and dedication to our schools every day. Mr. Jarrard has always held extremely high standards for our facilities and projects because he believes things should be done RIGHT. He is a problem-solver extraordinaire who takes tremendous pride in ensuring our buildings are well-maintained, our projects are completed to a high standard, and our students and staff have the best possible environments to learn and work. As Bones transitions out of the Director of Maintenance role, we are grateful that his work with Anderson 3 is not yet finished! This year, Anderson 3 has launched a district-wide Core Essentials initiative! Each month, students across the district will focus on a core value that is displayed, discussed, and woven into lessons and activities throughout our schools.

๐Ÿ’ก Augustโ€™s Core Essential: CREATIVITY
Using your imagination to do something unique.

Creativity encourages our students to think differently, explore new ideas, solve problems, and discover what is possible when they use their imagination.
Throughout the year, these shared values will give our students, staff, and families a common language as we work together to help students treat others right, make smart decisions, and maximize their potential.

Because in Anderson 3, we're not only educating students for today. We're helping build the people they'll become tomorrow. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿฏ
