Heather Dickerson, Instructional Technology Coach, has been busy sharing innovative work this summer! ๐ป๐พ
Heather presented during Computer Science Professional Development Week at The Citadel, sharing with teachers how rural students can connect computer science with agriculture through hands-on, real-world learning.
Her session focused on how students can use data, technology, and core content skills to better understand agriculture, including how precision farming may help address food needs in densely populated areas as the population continues to grow.
Heather also represented Anderson 3 at ISTE 2026 in Orlando, with a poster session titled โAlgorithms, Data, and Debugging in the Barn.โ
Through her work, Heather is helping make computer science more approachable, relevant, and meaningful for students by showing the real-world efficiency and impacts CS can have on Agriculture. By connecting technology to agriculture, students can see how computer science can impact the world around them while honoring the communities and experiences they know best.
We are so proud of Heather and the way she continues to lead, innovate, and represent Anderson 3! ๐
