Anderson 3 Board Meeting - November 21, 2022
At the November meeting of the Anderson 3 Board of Trustees, the board welcomed the newly elected trustee, Mrs. Hannah Arnold, to the district's at-large seat and reelected incumbents Mr. Larry Holbrook and Mr. Marty Watt to Area 1 and Area 4 seats. All three members completed the oath of office to serve the district for four years.

Board Commendations
The board commended Ms. Cheyenne Gilmer, a senior at Crescent High School, for receiving the 2022 South Carolina State Fair Commissioner of Agriculture Cup Winner (Champion Senior Showmanship). Mrs. Hipp also mentioned Cheyenne received the Martin Acevedo Happy Farmer Award and the 2022 South Carolina Farm Bureau Junior Dairy Scholarship Award.

Recognitions
Mr. Tim Taylor, Town Manager for the Town of Iva, recognized students and teachers who participated in the 2022 Town of Iva Recyclable Scarecrow Contest. Participating schools were awarded $300 from the town for other school projects. In addition, Iva Elementary's "Elvis" scarecrow was awarded an extra $500 for being named first place in the contest.
Iva Elementary
Mrs. Candace Stone (STEM Teacher at Iva Elementary) and Mrs. Jennifer Elrod (Fourth-Grade Teacher at Iva Elementary) accept the prize of $800 along with Iva students Jackson Fowler and Harper Powell students who assisted with the scarecrow project.
Starr Elementary
Mr. Brandon Watt, 4-H Advisor at Starr Elementary, accepts a check for $300 along with Starr student Jonathan Friedman
Flat Rock Elementary
Mrs. Lisa Bradford, STEM Teacher at Flat Rock Elementary, accepts a check for $300 along with Flat Rock students Jayden Wright, Zacch Whitaker, and Khloe O’Barr
Starr-Iva Middle School
Mrs. Martina Zinn, Art Teacher at Starr-Iva Middle School, accepts a check for $300.
