-"What do you value most about being a teacher?"
-"In my position as a teacher, first and foremost, I value the role I play in developing students into life-long learners. Teaching is one of the most important jobs you can have. As the daughter of a former educator, teaching is in my blood. It is second nature to me. I love being able to get students excited about studying our history, seeing a student feel proud when they learn something new through research we have conducted in science, or seeing them use what they have learned to create a Google Drawing, a Google Map, or an iMovie through the use of technology. I love those moments when the "light bulb" is ignited and a spark is lit for learning... the moment when I know they've got it! Second, I value the group of teachers I get the honor and privilege to work with every day. I work with the best group of people I know who are all dedicated to the students at Flat Rock Elementary. Finally, I value the role that I play in my district and community, a place where my children have grown up, and where I know that every day, I do my best to set a good example and make a difference."
Here are 3 Facts About Mrs. Dutton:
1. I am a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan! I have been a Dallas Cowboys fan since I was little. My daddy liked the Redskins, and I did not want to pull for a team he liked. This was one reason I also agreed to go out with my husband. He was a Cowboys fan too. 2. I love watching my children participate in sports - especially my daughters as they ran Cross Country and Track for Crescent and my son as he plays football, basketball, and baseball for Starr-Iva. 3. My favorite vacation spots are the beach and Disney!Congratulations, Mrs. Dutton!
Thank you for being an #A3AllStar for the students at Flat Rock Elementary!
