Flat Rock Elementary continues to shine as a model of excellence in South Carolina.

Principal Christy Dodd recently received a β€œBeating the Odds” banner from the South Carolina Education Oversight Committee in honor of Flat Rock Elementary being named one of the EOC’s Schools to Watch. The recognition celebrates schools that are demonstrating strong outcomes, intentional practices, and a commitment to helping students succeed.

For Flat Rock, this honor reflects the hard work happening each day across the school. From dedicated classroom instruction to strong relationships, high expectations, and a shared belief in student success, Flat Rock continues to show what is possible when a school community works together with purpose.

Mrs. Dodd was also recently featured on two episodes of The Education Beat podcast, hosted by Dr. Matthew Lavery, Deputy Director of the South Carolina Education Oversight Committee. The podcast highlights education stories, practices, and research from across South Carolina.

Mrs. Dodd shares about the work behind Flat Rock’s success and the intentional efforts that have helped the school continue to grow and excel. Her conversation offers listeners a deeper look at the people, practices, and heart behind the recognition.

Anderson 3 is proud to celebrate Flat Rock Elementary for the continued excellence shown by its students, staff, and school community.
