• Dear Starr Families,

I am super excited about our new STEM program this year. STEM is a curriculum based in four specific disciplines-science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Instead of teaching the four subjects serparete, STEM integrates the subjects based on real-world applications. Why does STEM matter? By 2018, eight million STEM jobs will be available in the United States, but the vast majority of U.S. students will be unprepared to fill them. They will develop critical thinking and problem solving skills.  I can't wait to get started and watch your children succeed this year.

     Sincerly,

    Mrs. Lauren Sutherland
