After graduating from Coastal Carolina University in 1995, Mrs. Parnell returned home to begin her teaching career at Walterboro High School. While at WHS, Mrs. Parnell taught Physical Education and Health and also coached varsity girls' basketball and served as an assistant softball coach for the Lady Bulldogs. In 1995, Mrs. Parnell left the Lowcountry to teach in Anderson School District #3. Her first stop in Anderson District #3 was at Crescent High School where she taught in the Special Education Department for a year. She then taught Physical Education and Health at Starr-Iva Middle School and in 2007 moved to the Guidance Department as the Career Specialist. In 2011, she moved back to Crescent High School to serve as the Career Specialist and School-to-Work Coordinator. During her time in District #3 she has coached basketball at all levels and continues to serve as an assistant softball coach for the "Fighting Lady Tigers!"
Mrs. Parnell is married to Danny Parnell and they have 3 children, Justin (18), Ashley (15), and Drew (13).
